We are happy to wash your adult mohair ahead of time. We start with a pound, you will get about 14 ounces, as we removed dirt, chaff and gunk.  We wash and rinse three times, and then lay your mohair on a mesh hammock where it drys under a fan. It will take two days before we ship. So expect your washed mohair to arrive at least a week after ordering. 

Adult mohair is used for doll locks, wet felting, needle felting and as a silky/super shiny addition to spinners roving. Mohair takes well to dye and adds luster to your projects. I love to spin dyed locks into art yarn. 

As goats age, their fiber becomes more course, so it’s not used for next-to-your-skin-soft projects. But don’t let this fact discourage you. There’s so much to do with a nice batch of spinners locks!
